Inmemoir Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 June 2026

Inmemoir is published by TONKLEY INNOVATIONS LTD., a company registered in England and Wales with company number 15843428.

Short version

Inmemoir is local-first by default. Audio is processed on device where supported. Memos are saved on this device by default. The v1.0 release has no account requirement, cloud sync, or third-party cloud ASR. Optional cloud LLM review is off by default and requires explicit user action before memo content, transcripts, or review context is sent to a cloud provider.

What Inmemoir does

Inmemoir helps users record investing thoughts, create memo drafts, save and search memos, and create review cards that challenge the user's own reasoning.

The app is a private journal and reasoning review tool. It does not connect to brokerage accounts, move money, place orders, manage assets, or decide actions for users.

Local-first defaults

Microphone and speech recognition

Inmemoir asks for microphone access so the user can record voice memos. It asks for speech recognition access so the recording can be transcribed.

The app requests on-device Apple Speech recognition by default. If on-device recognition is unavailable for a selected language, simulator, device state, or system condition, transcription may fail instead of silently switching to a third-party provider. Apple Speech Fallback is optional in Settings. Inmemoir v1.0 does not include a third-party cloud ASR provider.

Optional cloud LLM providers

Optional cloud LLM review is off by default.

If a user actively enables a cloud LLM provider, Inmemoir asks for explicit consent before sending memo content, transcript text, or review context to that provider. Provider API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain for Inmemoir.

Cloud provider processing is governed by the selected provider's own terms and privacy policy. Users should not enable a provider unless they are comfortable with that provider processing the submitted content.

Data stored by the app

Inmemoir may store the following data locally on the user's device:

Deleting local data

Users can delete saved memo content from within the app where deletion controls are available. Deleting the app from iOS also removes the app's local container data according to iOS system behavior. Optional cloud LLM API keys stored in the Keychain can be removed from Inmemoir Settings.

App Store privacy label posture

In default local-first mode, TONKLEY INNOVATIONS LTD. does not collect Inmemoir audio recordings or memo content from the app.

Because the prepared binary includes user-selectable cloud LLM provider paths, App Store privacy answers should conservatively disclose User Content categories when those optional features are used. More detail is available on the Inmemoir App Privacy Labels page.

Children

Inmemoir is not designed for children and should not be used to intentionally record children's personal data.

Changes

TONKLEY INNOVATIONS LTD. may update this policy when Inmemoir's data practices change. If cloud sync, accounts, analytics, marketplace features, remote configuration, third-party SDKs, third-party speech transcription, or default cloud processing are added, this policy and App Store privacy information must be reviewed before release.
